Emma Garland is founder of The Good Food Yogi and North Wales Yoga Retreats; a hugely successful Yoga and Wellness Brand, transforming the wellness of hundreds of members across the world for almost 10 years.  

Qualifying in her 200 hour Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training in 2013, Emma continues to develop her own practice, whilst enhancing her knowledge and teacher training experience; Emma is now recognised as Senior Yoga Teacher and Approved Coach with the UK Yoga Alliance Professionals body.  

Emma delivers weekly online and physical yoga classes; informative workshops; bi-annual weekend retreats and workplace wellness on a weekly basis to her hugely popular, ever-growing community. As part of the wellbeing experience, Emma shares insightful knowledge of her plant-based/vegan experience, through fun, hands-on cookery workshops, as well as cresting the complete plant-diverse experience at her popular, sell-out weekend retreats.   

Workplace wellbeing

Having worked 10 years in London and Cambridge, with experience in marketing and corporate communications, Emma knows all too well the stress and importance of finding a balance within the workplace. Emma curates wellbeing experiences for local and international businesses, allowing people of all abilities to discover the necessity of balance and relaxation within the mind and body. Through carefully crafted workplace wellbeing sessions that not only boost mental and physical health but also productivity; she shares her knowledge of breathwork, meditation and the need to move the body to find and correct balance and alignment.

More recently, Emma has been curating wellbeing areas for larger groups of 150 people at various outdoor weekend events throughout the year; providing a mix of breathwork, meditation, yoga and holistic practitioners to deliver high-end, bespoke individual treatments; for the The Walled Garden School and The Good Life Society festival camps. Emma thrives in this outdoor environment, sharing her love of the great outdoors and allowing people and little people to experience the beauty and simplicity of breathwork, visual meditation and grounding movement through barefoot yoga to boost the body’s electrical charge. 

Weekend Retreats Since 2017, The Good Food Yogi’s sell-out North Wales weekend yoga retreats have transformed the wellbeing of hundreds of people thanks to Emma’s unique blend of strength-based yoga classes and fun, technique workshops with well-balanced, plant-diverse, nutritious food to supercharge the mind and body. 

To provide a truly immersive experience at these weekend retreats; we take our guests for a wild, cold-plunge swim to feel fully rejuvenated and invigorated. 

Emma was six months pregnant when she completed her 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training, over 10 years ago at the Sampoorna School of Yoga in India. This can-do attitude and ability to adapt and modify for life, showcases her philosophy: yoga for everyone, no matter your size, age or ability.

Inspiring beginners to next generation yoga teachers

From teaching those who’ve never set foot on a yoga mat, to mentoring advanced practitioners; The Good Food Yogi trains aspiring yoga teachers around the world, using her vast knowledge and teaching experience  as full-time Senior Yoga Teacher and Approved Coach with the UK, Yoga Alliance Professionals organistaion. 

A hawk-eyed, hands-on yoga teacher for over 10 years, Emma teaches all levels of yoga using a mix of in-person and online classes, 1-2-1s; workshops and retreats. Closely watching her client’s movements, Emma’s relaxed approach uses tailored techniques to improve muscle imbalance, flexibility and strength.

The Good Food Yogi’s food mantra is simple: eating tasty, nourishing, fibre-fuelled, nutritious plant-based food makes you feel incredible.

Emma switched to plant-based eating in 2017 and hasn’t looked back. She now teaches others how positive food and lifestyle changes can improve gut health and boost the mind and body through her popular cookery workshops and classes in Chester.
